Downton Abbey take America: Joanne Froggatt steals a march on her glamorous co-stars... as she stands out in hot pink

They are in the United States to publicise their hit show's third season, and it seems that  Joanne Froggatt was keen to stand out from the crowd as the cast hit New York on Monday night.
While castmates Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern and Sophie McShera opted for perenially chic black, Joanne, 31, took best-dressed in a hot fuchsia pink shift dress by designer Ralph Lauren.
The former Coronation Street actress accessorised the sleek Ralph Lauren Collection shift with a pair of silver 'ready for the dancefloor shoes' and matching clutch from the label.

The whistle-stop tour has seen them attend a premiere party, a screening, panel discussions and even the basketball in New York's Madison Square Garden.
Joanne, who plays housemaid Anna Bates, recently got married in a secret ceremony.
She and her stunning co-stars attended an evening with the cast and producers of the ITV/PBS Masterpiece series hosted by Downton fan Ralph Lauren, who dressed the whole cast in outfits from his design house, and Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter.
In February, Lauren, 72, even sent models down the catwalk wearing English countryside-inspired garbs from the 2012 fall collection as the Downton Abbey theme tune was played.
And he is the sponsor of the show in the U.S. part of broadcaster PBS' Masterpieces series, which airs popular period dramas.

Michelle Dockery, 30, looked sleek in a one-shoulder Ralph Lauren Collection leather embroidered dress, and Elizabeth McGovern, 51, wore a black satin prom style dress with some glitzy tights.

Sophie McShera, 26, who plays maid Daisy looked trendy in a velvet cropped top and leather skirt.
But it was clearly Joanne's night, as she cut a vibrant silhouette in the pink shift.
Joanne, whose character is married to the imprisoned valet John Bates told The Hollywood Reporter at a panel discussion held in Los Angeles on Friday, she saw the trip as 'warm recreation in the States'.
But she also seemed keen to discover what a hit show on a U.S. network series would pay.
When told that teen star Angus T. Jones makes $300,000 per episode in his 10th season of Two and a Half Men, Froggatt apparently sighed.

Asked if pay on Downton is comparable, she laughed and said: 'No comment.'
Castmate Rob James-Collier, who plays gay footman Thomas Barrow, seemed keen to follow in the footsteps of British Homeland Damian Lewis.
'I'm working hard on my own American accent. I think I'll nail it very soon,' revealed Rob.
'I know Damian Lewis just won an Emmy for Homeland, so I'm working hard on my own American accent. I think I'll nail it very soon.
'There's definitely a wave of Brits doing great work on American television, and I wouldn't mind being one of them!'

The actor joked: 'We’ve been thinking of Downton Abbey in the wrong way, if we’re to listen to Hugh Bonneville, who plays the Grantham family’s father/clan leader.
'It’s Breaking Bad with tea instead of meth.'
Meanwhile the cast revealed that actress Jessica Brown-Findlay's leaving party was for her birthday - to stop the death of her character being leaked before it was shown.

Bonneville revealed the lengths they went to because they were desperate for the shock storyline of Lady Sybil's death to remain a secret.
Hugh, who plays the Earl of Grantham in the popular ITV1 drama, said it was difficult to keep Downton secrets from his family and friends.

He told heat magazine: 'I think we did a really good job of keeping the death of Lady Sybil a secret, because it seemed to have such a big impact.
'You very rarely get any proper surprises in TV drama any more, so it was a joy to pull that off. The leakage of plot spoilers is so rife.

'In fact, when we had a leaving do for Jessica (Findlay-Brown) we had to put up Happy Birthday signs and pretend it was her birthday, instead.'
